Mural Painting Community Project @ Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center (former Gay City)
We are excited to invite you to help us create a series of vibrant and colorful murals at Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center! Our group of youth arts interns has been working hard to design seven murals that represent the diversity and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community in Seattle. Two Spirits: Non-binary Genders in Native Communities Panel @ Bainbridge Island Museum of Art
Join BIMA for this panel discussion about two-spirited, non-binary peoples particularly but not limited to the local Native communities. This panel looks at historical and contemporary experiences of Two-Spirit identifi ed persons, and how Two-Spirits provide a more nuanced and inclusive take than binary gender identity allows. The panel addresses the experience of such persons within their Native communities, and within non-Native communities.
