Skeleton Flower the band emerged from Degenerate Art Ensemble’s theatrical production of the same name which premiered earlier this year. Skeleton Flower the band is an art-rock quintet that might draw comparisons to Bjork, Grizzly Bear, Deerhoof, Rubble Bucket, Blonde Redhead and Dirty Projectors. The songs are filled with complex rhythmic guitar lines, hard hitting drums and catchy melodic vocals. This event will mark both the group’s debut and the release of their brand new self titled album. The launching of the Skeleton Flower band marks a very new direction from the artists of Degenerate Art Ensemble, a group that never fails to bring new ideas and dazzling visuals to their faithful fans.

ABOUT OUR GUESTS

FRUIT JUICE

“The kind of light psychedelic pop created by Fruit Juice is eminently invigorating in its giddy goofiness. With their glammy energy and commitment to sunny, falsetto harmonies.. It’s a swirling fish bowl of paint illuminating against a wall in an endless configuration of shapes and colors — all with pleasantly glassy-eyed sheen” Rev Adam Mckinney, Weekly Volcano

TOMO NAKAYAMA

Named “Best Folk Act” by Seattle Weekly, Tomo Nakayama has consistently created music that is complex, nuanced, and emotionally compelling. His decade of work both as a solo artist and as frontman in his chamber-pop band Grand Hallway has been praised by NPR, New York Times, and KEXP. Known for his crystalline high-tenor voice, intricate fingerpicking, cinematic production style, and simple, poetic lyrics imbued with warmth and humanity, Tomo’s songs have drawn comparisons to Paul Simon, Elliott Smith, and Jeff Buckley.

THE TIGER TAILS

We love to dance! The Tiger Tails are DJ Chibi (Elizabeth Jameson) and DJ Miso (Natalie Parks) playing funk, disco, new wave, soul, Japanese pop, lounge…ALL the fun dance music! The Tiger Tails will warm up the Neptune in the pre-show hour from 7-8.
