Translations Film Festival: Hold Me Like Before (Abrázame como antes)
May 4 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Translations Seattle Transgender Film Festival is a groundbreaking film festival that provides the Pacific Northwest with a venue for films by, for, and about transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people and the issues facing the community. Launched in 2006, Translations is one of only a few transgender film festivals in the world, and places emphasis on visibility and positive representations.
Saturday May 4th, at 7:15 pm – at Gay City: Seattle’s LGBTQ Center
Beneath the colorful neon and glaring streetlights of San José, Verónica, a trans sex worker, makes the risky decision to care for an injured homeless teen whom one of her clients has hit with his car. Offering herself as a surrogate mother, she invites the boy into her life and nurses him back to health. Featuring a cast of non-actors, HOLD ME LIKE BEFORE illustrates how everyday dramas can become symbolic guides for processing the recurring themes in our lives.
This feature is deaf-friendly but the short is presented without subtitles.
