2015: The year you play softball again. For real. And OK, totally for fun.

The 546-member Emerald City Softball Association, the largest gay-softball league in the Northwest, invites players of all kinds to its annual Field Day on Saturday, Jan. 24, at North SeaTac Park in SeaTac.

The new-player clinic and skills assessment is designed for players of all skill levels — novices are strongly encouraged to attend, as are seasoned pros who may be changing ECSA divisions. Representatives from many of the ECSA’s 35+ teams will be on hand to introduce themselves and potentially recruit new teammates for the 2015 softball season, which runs from April 12 to early July.

Whether you’re throwing a ball for the first time or seeking the next team in your long softball career, the Field Day can be a great introduction to the ECSA’s welcoming community.

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a mitt and molded plastic cleats (no metal spikes). There is no cost to attend. In case of rain, the event will move to Sunday, Jan. 25, at the same location.
