April Seattle Spit featuring Infinity!!!
April 9, 2015 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm
About our very Talented and Chocolatety Feature: At a young age Seattle native, Infinity, knew that music was going to be one of her many passions. Learning early in life that music was a healing power, Infinity used what she learned singing in church to empower her to start writing and producing music for herself and other local artist. In 2012, Infinity created ILKnation with her sister, Nefertiti to support and produce women song-writers, singers, dancers and performers. Encouraging them not to give up on their dreams before they’ve manifested into realities
Our beautiful and Brave host for the evening will be Ms. @Sholonda Higgins!!!!
Feature will start promptly at 8:30 p.m. Get there early, grab a drink, food, and/or a seat,
… and prepare to be dazzled. Ten minute intermission between Feature & Open Mic.
Sign up for Open Mic anytime: before the feature, during the feature, during intermission
and during Open Mic itself. Open Mic rules: one piece only – up to five minutes. Some
exceptions are made for short poems one minute or less. Work must be original, however,
any form is welcome – song, spoken word, performance art, stand-up, rap, speech,
etc. Musical instruments are okay if used to support the performer’s voice as the main
performance.
Seattle Spit works toward creating an inclusive and safe environment for all. We believe
that every voice is important and necessary. We also believe that bringing words to the
mic is a privilege and responsibility. Please bring pieces to the stage that are free of
oppressive (sexist, cissexist, racist, classist, ageist, ableist, lookist, sizeist, homophobic,
etc.) material. We encourage all Seattle Spit participants (attendees, features, open mic
performers, etc.) to engage in dialogue that helps us all be better to ourselves and each
other. Let’s grow and write and love together!
Seattle Spit is a queer spoken word event that is free and open to all, 21+. Seattle Spit
occurs monthly, on the second Thursday of each month at 8:30pm at WildRose (1021 E
