PFLAG Bellevue/Eastside Marches at Duvall Days Parade!
June 3, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Duvall Days is a festival celebrating the “Small Town / Real Life” community spirit of Duvall, WA. The annual two-day event kicks off with a Grand Parade at 10:30 Saturday morning. You can find details on the parade route, road closures, parking & shuttles and the event’s fun activities at duvalldays.org
This will be our PFLAG chapter’s 5th year marching in the Parade! Our participation is a wonderful opportunity for visibility and connection and we’ve had a warm reception from the community.
Our parade contingent gathers at 10am at the parade staging area on Main Street, just south of NE Valley. Look for the pink “You’re Loved by PFLAG” sign. If you plan to arrive early, before 10am, you are welcome to help with set up. Message us for details prior to the event date.
We’ll pull our “Closets are for Clothes” float. Rainbows and other LGBTQ-friendly gear are welcome. If you have a PFLAG tee shirt, feel free to wear it.
We’d love to see some newcomers this year, to add to our numbers. Our presence is a strong signal to LGBTQ folks and their families, particularly our youth, that we are here for them. It’s also an incredibly fun event and many of us stay after the parade to check out the festivities.
