Drone Butch Blues: Free Performance

June 22, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The entire album of Drone Butch Blues will be performed by Clyde Petersen’s band Your Heart Breaks near the Shelter House of Cal Anderson Park, and a complimentary poster with lyrics from “Our Forbidden Country” will be given to all attendees.

The music of Drone Butch Blues is based on writings by historic and contemporary GLBTQI authors like David Wojnarowicz, Joan Nestle and Tom Spanbauer. Topics of secret and forbidden love, sex with strangers, the lives of hustlers, the lasting impact of AIDS, historic events and rebellions, are all interwoven with personal narrative and oral histories.
This performance is part of the AMPlify Memories Temporary Art Installations happening from June – November around the future site of The AMP: AIDS Memorial Pathway.
