Flammable is an internationally recognized, 29 year long inclusive house music event featuring local and out-of-town headliners on a weekly basis. Flammable (at Re-bar and now at Cherry) is an LGBTQIA+ / QPOC / POC focused event bringing artists, musicians, and our guests all under one roof, creating a welcoming space to safely present & express one’s self in any way. We provide an inclusive environment for traditionally underserved members of our community including POC, sex workers, refugees, undocumented persons, working class, working poor, and other marginalized communities. Due to the nature of such a diverse gathering of beautifully unique humans It can sometimes require more care and diligence than the average event, but it is a responsibility we have always taken on with loving intent and zero prejudice. Because of this we have always strived, and have been able to successfully provide a safe community-based music and dance event. Flammable is also a member of City of Seattle’s Safe Spaces program and residents of Flammable include individuals who give back to their community through affiliated organizations like University of Washington, KEXP, City of Seattle, King County, Food Not Bombs, Lambda House and more. Key members of our team also participate in the City of Seattle Office of Film and Music’s Nightlife Advisory Board, and with organizations like Seattle Music Safety Summit. Our dedication to inclusivity, tolerance, the dignified treatment of every single human in our orbit and the sustainability of our industry is true and tireless. As such, the feedback from our regulars and new faces alike has been overwhelmingly positive…and we thank you!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
