Turbo Drive is the longest running Synthwave party in the world! Spinning music by artists like: Kavinsky, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, Dance with the Dead, Com Truise, Gost, Robert Parker, Cut Copy, Lazerhawk, Chromeo, College, Electric Youth, Miami Nights 1984, 80’s Stallone, Futurecop!, The Outrunners, FM Attack, Mitch Murder, Noir Deco, Garth Knight, Power Glove and much more.
DJ Devon (Turbo Drive founder) formed the event at San Francisco’s DNA Lounge booking live Synthwave acts and DJs surrounded by a neon futuristic aesthetic of visuals and led decor. He’s also responsible for FM-84 and The Midnight’s very first live performance as well as debuting Carpenter Brut to a sold out San Francisco audience.
Meikee Magnetic joined Turbo Drive after the 2nd year and has held a strong DJ residency since. He started his DJ career in Tokyo Japan being inspired by it’s futuristic energy he performed live on MTV Japan, BBC London, Electronic Music Festivals and atop MT Fuji. Meikee’s been deeply involved in nightlife since a teenager from San Francisco, Japan, Miami Ultra Music Festival, Mexico, Los Angeles and beyond.
Drawbird and RNDM CHLD will be opening the night with their first ever B2B melodic synth inspired performance, each bringing their flavor of heavily vibey and dramatic synth genres.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
