Adept will feature poetry, storytelling, dance, comedy, music, and JOY from sick and disabled LGBTQ people. “The cruelty of ableism: it robs us from each other.” (Disability Justice advocate and writer, Mia Mingus) This show intends to interrupt that separation by bringing the community together to celebrate sick and disabled voices. If you need DeafBlind interpretation services, please let us know by January 13th at noon so that we can reserve an interpreter for the show you are attending.
*Sponsor Tickets: Gay City relies on the generosity of our patrons and supporters to help bring about programs like Gay City Arts. Spending a little more on your ticket will help keep our program running and our ticket prices low.
*Radical Hospitality Tickets are our FREE ticket program. Each night of this show, a number of free tickets are available for reservation. Provided as an homage to a concept first pioneered by Mixed Blood Theatre in Minneapolis, meant to “erase economic barriers in pursuit of building a truly inclusive” audience.
**Ally Tickets mean you’re providing an opportunity for someone who can’t afford the ticket price to attend the show (and making sure LGBTQ Sick and Disabled People get paid for their art!).
“Thank you to the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture for their support & partial funding of this project!”
