LGBTQ Youth Snowshoeing Adventure
January 21, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Lambert House is taking LGBTQ youth ages 11-22 (11-13 requires signed parent consent form available at the Lambert House front desk) on a guided snowshoeing trip in the Cascade Mountains near Snoqualmie Pass. Please sign up at the Lambert House front desk no later than Wednesday, January 18th. All youth must have a signed liability release form for this trip, available at the front desk. It does require a parent/guardian signature for youth ages 17 & younger.
Lambert House will provide transportation, and rented snowshoes. Youth should prepare with warm snow clothing & boots (snowshoes strap on to typical hiking boots, waterproof is best), 1 liter of water, snacks, a lunch, and cash for a possible dinner stop on the way back. Some materials may be available at Lambert House; check with a volunteer or staff member. Here is some information about snowshoeing and how to be prepared from REI: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/snowshoeing-first-steps.html. Cost for the trip is sliding scale $0-$60, please consider what you can contribute; we do not want money to prevent LGBTQ youth from attending.
Sign up available two weeks prior to the trip at the Lambert House front desk. Must have completed a drop-in center orientation before signing up. Call the front desk Monday through Friday 4-9:30pm for questions: 206-322-2515.
