A FEW BASIC COSPLAY CONTEST RULES:
-Individual entries only. No groups or couples may compete as one entry. Contestants must sign up by 7:30 p.m. We will be posted an online sign up form in advance of the event. Keep an eye out for that.
-Contestants will start to be introduced around 8 p.m. Judges will select winners after all contestants have been introduced.
-All cosplayers can enter whether they made 100 percent of their costume or zero percent, HOWEVER, judges may weigh the level of craftiness in their decision-making process.
-Two of the winners will be chosen by the judges. A third will be picked by the audience from a group of top competitors selected by the judges.
-The judges have final say on who the winners are. In the case that there is no consensus, Nick and Dyer will break the tie.
-Contestants must be present during prize announcements to win.
-Have fun! (More of a suggestion than a rule, but do it!)

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
