Come learn about Queercore’s upcoming Peer Leadership Group, an arts and activism group for LGBTQQIA+ folks ages 12-20! We will be helping people fill out their applications (Due March 9th) and answering any questions you may have.
In light of the Trump Administration’s rescinding of protections for trans students and the new initiative I-1552, poet and activist J Mase IIII will be joining us to discuss what this means and what actions youth can take. We will be making protest flyers countering these initiatives.

About the Peer Leadership Group:
Every Thursday from March 16 to June 22nd, we will meet to discuss social justice and health justice. We will delve into the impacts of tobacco and marijuana industries on the LGBTQQIA+ community, as well as the history of drug policing and criminalization in our neighborhoods. Participants will be encouraged to share issues they find pertinent to themselves and will develop storytelling, social media, and filmmaking skills to spread awareness around these issues. Our work will be presented in a short film festival featured in Seattle Pridefest 2017 and shared with trans and queer youth organizations statewide.
Meetings will be Thursdays 3pm-7pm @Gay City: Seattle’s LGBTQ Center 517 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122
Participants will receive $300 stipend or community service hours for their time in the group
