One of the country’s most acclaimed chefs, Renee Erickson is a James-Beard nominated chef and the owner of several Seattle restaurants: The Whale Wins, Boat Street Kitchen, The Walrus and the Carpenter, and Barnacle.
Erickson’s luscious cookbook is perfect for anyone who loves the fresh seasonal food of the Pacific Northwest. Defined by the bounty of the Puget Sound region, as well as by French cuisine, this cookbook is filled with seasonal, personal menus like Renee’s Fourth of July Crab Feast, Wild Foods Dinner, and a fall pickling party. Jeffry Mitchell was born in Seattle in 1958. He received his MFA in printmaking at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia. For more than twenty-five years Mitchell has produced idiosyncratic sculptures, drawings, and prints. His oeuvre seamlessly combines high and low references that span religion, sex, nature, fine art, and folk and decorative arts traditions.
Mitchell has been nominated for numerous national awards and was a recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant in 2009.
Mitchell’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections including the Seattle Art Museum, Philadelphia Art Museum, Fogg Art Museum (Harvard University), and the Portland Art Museum.
