Frequently, gay visitors to Seattle express interest in finding out what clubs the “Asians” hang out at. Here is my crude attempt at a simple analysis:
The primary bar on weekends seems to be Neighbours Nightclub and specifically near the bar in the corner furthest from the door. Typically, late at night, the bar will fill with up to dozens of Asians, with many interested in meeting other Asians.
R Place, with its hip-hop format, attracts a distinctly younger multi-racial crowd including many under-30 Asians.
Purr Cocktail Lounge comes in at 3rd on the list with a slight mix of Asian customers interested in the bar’s “frat boy” clientele.
But, of course, you will find Asians throughout all the gay bars in Seattle: From the baseball cap wearing crowd at Madison Pub to the stand and pose crowd at Manray Video Bar and even with the leather loving crowd at the Cuff.
