Kurrent is now open right in the heart of Pine Street and it appears destined to make some waves in Seattle. This “vivacious” restaurant and lounge with its “IceBox Bar” features a long strip of ice running down a 50 foot bar to keep your martini chilled. They offer over 65 different vodkas served in a stainless steel martini glass. The restaurant is as innovative and creative with their menu of upscale, Asian influenced, seafood dishes as they are with their chilly libations. On weekends they offer valet parking. Valet parking on Capitol Hill? Oh my goodness.
Happy Hour runs 3 – 6 pm and 9 pm to close everyday. Features include half price gourmet appetizers (try the crab artichoke melt with spicy chips, yum) and one drink special of the day (The management claims to offer it daily but some of the wait staff will claim it is not offered on Friday & Saturday). Pictured is their mango mojito special of the day.
Unfortunately, some of their mojitos do not taste all that special. Their blueberry mojito tasted like a combination of Skyy vodka and ice. However, they were quick to make a better tasting replacement. Double check your bill during happy hours to make sure you got the discounts. Can attract a heavily straight crowd on weekend nights so probably best to visit during their off days.
