Daylight Savings Time Bar Hopping

November 1, 2007• bySeattle Gay Scene

This annual Daylight Savings Time event has been pushed forward into November this year when the nation will set their clocks back one hour at 2 am on Sunday. This gives an extra hour of bar time on Saturday night. It’s like drinking till 3 am in Seattle. In the past, Neighbours Nightclub has been very busy with the extra hour as the lingering drinking crowd and the confused after hours crowd seem to come together for one brief moment during the year.

From the Washington State Liquor Control Board:

What are the legal hours of sale or consumption by a licensed business?

ANSWER: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., seven days a week.

EXCEPTION: When turning back the clock at the end of Daylight Savings Time, an extra hour is added making 2:00 a.m. Pacific Standard time the closing hour.

Still recovering from a long Halloween week?

Our very short weekend event guide will be posted soon.
