Q Club at 5th Avenue Theatre Nearly Sold Out

November 6, 2007• bySeattle Gay Scene
Q Club

In only its second year, Q Club at the 5th Avenue Theatre is already almost at its capacity. In a Community Partnership with GSBA, Q Club is an exclusive opportunityQ Club for LGBT season ticket subscribers to meet and greet and enjoy access to a special lounge for just a very small additional fee on top of the subscription. Before the 2nd Friday performance Q Club subscribers are invited into a specially created lounge and recently have been given unique additional access to the exclusive Producer’s Club during the event. Q Club patrons are served a complimentary selection of a few light hors d’oeuvres and either one complimentary glass of wine or the show-themed cocktail of the night. The wine is the same selection served in the Producer’s Club and additional glasses are available for only $7.

Joey Chapman of Audience Development at 5th Avenue says the interest in Q Club has been beyond expectations. The Theatre promoted the program during Q Clubthe Pride Parade and has never looked back since. Q Club has limited capacity and has attracted both current and new subscribers from the LGBT community.

Chapman mentioned that the Theatre acquired a new 15,000-square-foot space as a new rehearsal hall. According to this announcement from 5th Avenue “This new space will be known as “Downstairs at The 5th” and will include a full-sized rehearsal hall, education center, and space for the construction and storage of scenery, props, costumes, lighting and sound equipment.” It will also have a full-catering kitchen which will provide the Theatre with much more space for pre- and post-theater parties and events such as Q Club. They hope to have it completed by the end of the 2008 – 2009 season. While expansion of Q Club may be in the future, for now this year they want to keep the integrity of having it a exclusive single night event.

During intermission Q Club members are invited back down into the club where any drink or food orders are waiting upon arrival. One nice benefit is access to an exclusive bathroom.

Q Club

A very limited amount of space in Q Club is available for subscribers purchasing the four remaining shows in the season: Whistle Down the Wind, Jersey Boys, MAME, and Cabaret. Most importantly joining now gives someone priority into next year’s Q Club. With the current capacity it will almost certainly sell out before the start of the 2008 Season.

For details about becoming a subscriber go to 5th Avenue.org or for info about Q Club call the 5th Avenue Theatre Ticketing Center (206) 625-1900.
