Here is the Saturday Night report from the clubs on Capitol Hill in Gay Seattle:
By 8 pm The Elite front bar was moderately full of customers who had heard of their opening only by word of mouth. A few patrons relaxed in the other lounge areas of the bar as well. It looks like a pretty good start to their opening at the brand new location.
By 10 pm Madison Pub was pretty full and a bit more energy than normal. Still room for more people but it appeared that a few groups had gathered possibly celebrating something like a birthday. The crowd was the typical 30’s and 40’s with a few younger and older patrons mixed in. No Cover as usual.
By 11 pm Purr was packed and nearly bursting at the seams but it was not uncomfortable. The upstairs lounge was closed off to a special group who had rented it. The DJ was set up in the far corner of the bar. The age of the crowd was mixed but noticeably younger. No Cover as usual.
By 12 am Neighbours Nightclub was completely dead. Of course things do not get going there until later but it was even more empty than usual. $5 Cover until Midnight.
By 12:30 am Cuff Complex was packed with men. A few younger men and few older men, but mostly “men” men. The dance floor was very packed but because of the cold weather the patio was relatively empty other than a lineup at the outside bar. Smoking is no longer allowed on the patio so patrons must go out the front door to smoke. There was a $4 Cover which is typical on Friday and Saturday night.
After 1:00 am the crowd had increased at Neighbours Nightclub but was relatively quiet and tame compared to other Saturday nights. A number of under 21 patrons did enter the club at 2:00 am during their afterhours but not an extraordinary amount. (Neighbours Underground was holding a 22 and under event)
Both Manray and Pony are now shut down and there is a chain link fence surrounding the entire building.
