SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
PRE-GAME SHOW – 11 AM to 3 PM: Ryan Seacrest, host of Fox’s American Idol, will interview assorted celebrities as they arrive at the game via Fox’s Red Carpet outside the University of Phoenix stadium, where the game will be played. Musical performances during the pre-game are expected to be by Paula Abdul, Alicia Keys, Jordin Sparks, along with a duet by Willie Nelson and Sara Evans.
THE COMMERCIALS – I don’t know if there will be another Snicker’s Ad this year. Let’s hope not. At least this year Indiana Family Institute supporter and gay marriage opponent Tony Dungy, who is coach of the Indianapolis Colts, will not be there. Here is a sneak peak at this year’s Super Bowl ads.
HALFTIME SHOW – Determined to avoid any controversy this year the halftime entertainment will be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I don’t think I want to see that wardrobe malfunction. Don’t get me wrong I loved Tom Petty like 20 years ago but I thought for sure it would be Britney Spears this year. Now THAT would be sad to watch but entertaining. But the Super Bowl always know how to make the whole thing into a big spectacle so I am sure Tom Petty will shine.
SUPER BOWL XXLII XLII (That’s #42 for the Roman numeral illiterate)
3 PM (3:17 pm Kickoff):
New England Patriots vs. New York Giants – Overly talked about QB Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will try to become the first team ever to go 19-0 after already finishing the regular season as the first team to go undefeated. Yes, it’s New York vs. Boston, just like the 2004 World Series. The NY Giants hope to show the NE Patriots just how big of a Wildcard team they really are and repeat their excellent performance of nearly defeating New England in the final game of the season. So a 3 pm game gives you plenty of time to wake up from the hangover and head out and party with the gang.
NOTE: I will be traveling to Hawaii next weekend to cover events during the NFL Pro-Bowl in Honolulu. So look for updates from Hula’s.
Hey Bill. I love reading your blog. I always do once or twice a week.
Just a note, that 42 in roman numerals is XLII.
[blush] Opps. Now who am I calling illiterate.
