The HX Gay and Lesbian Travel Expo report

March 21, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

The HX Travel Expo at the Hyatt Hotel was very well attended. The many travel specialists participating were all very anxious to show off their newest gay travel product or destination (Albuquerque, New Mexico?), answer questions and give out those special little goodies to add to your growing collection of rubber duckies.

Vera calls out the next lucky winner of tickets to Sandra Bernhard as Wade
Schwartz from the It’s About Life Expo in June assists her. (Wade is on the left)

Attendance seemed much higher than last year’s at the downtown Red Lion or maybe the space was just tighter, anyhow, this year the bar on hand was very typical of Hyatt…expensive. But that didn’t prevent many people from indulging in an after-five-o’clock cocktail. There was complimentary snacks that the hungry after work crowd manage to devour in record time.

Those that didn’t make it missed out on a really interesting event…but I guess there’s always next year.

The Gnome made it to the Gay Travel Expo and
in no way looked embarrassed about being at a
gay event. In fact, he kept giving me that stare.

Wade was too busy, as usually is the case, to be eating.
