Rain Country presents…April 25-27, 2008
What is a “hoedown”?
A hoedown is a weekend-long country-western dance event. More than just a single evening dance, a hoedown features dance workshops, chances to socialize, and just a whole lot of fun!
Anyone can attend any of the events even if you have not preregistered or are not a member of Rain Country.
The events begin on Friday with a Pizza Social at Piecora’s Pizza from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. The country-western dancing begins at Cuff Complex at 7:00 pm before moving over to OutDancing at Century Ballroom at 10:30 pm.
On Saturday, things begin with a Coffee Social Hour at Caffé Vita (1005 E Pike–2nd floor) at 9 am. Then the schedule gets really busy with many choices of workshops at both Cuff and Century Ballroom from 10 am until 5:00 pm.
The Women’s Social hour begins at 5:00 pm at Wildrose.
The Emerald City Hoedown Ball at the Polish Hall (1714 18th Avenue) begins at 7:00 pm until 12:30 am ($20 for the entire evening) packed with three seperate dances.
Men can finish the night off with the Men’s Social: Boots & Briefs at Seattle Eagle from 11 pm to 2 am.
Sunday begins with a Coffee Social hour again at Caffé Vita (1005 E Pike–2nd floor) at 9 am.
West Coast Swing is from 10 am to 1 pm at the Polish Hall (Or I suppose instead you could sneak over to the NW Bear Brunch at Martins Off Madison from 11:30 am – 1 pm). West Coast Swing is followed by line dancing at Cuff from 2 pm – 3 pm.
From 3 – 5 pm the Afternoon Dance & BBQ will be held at Cuff.
