This popular queer event returns with special guest, DJ Seth Gold from Avalon in NYC, on Saturday April 19, 2008 at Chop Suey.
Seth Gold (NYC)…
His style on the turntables is what they call “mash up”. He has become as known for excavating obscure songs as he is for blending tracks with unlikely partners. Jay-Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” with Def Leopards’ “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. Madonna’s Holiday spliced with Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl.”
DJ Seth Gold is enjoying the perks of top guy status in the club world: money (in addition to Avalon, Gold holds a residency at Campus in NYC; he played legendary Roxy too, before it closed late last year); fans (he gets over two hundred friend requests on myspace each week); and travel (with regular gigs in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Texas, Gold devotes two weekends each month to spinning outside of NYC.
HOTMESS also brings together resident DJs LA Kendall and Colby B., all into one event.
Hosted by D$ and Guerrilla Go-Go’s.
At Chop Suey from 9pm to 2 am.
Admission is $8 and only $5 before 11 pm!
More information is available on their MySpace.
