Events for Thursday April 24, 2008:
1) Dine Out for Life to Fight AIDS. Whatever you end up doing tonight start the evening at one of over 150 million Seattle restaurants on the list and 30% of the night’s proceeds will be donated back to Lifelong in support of their care services.
2) The Detective, the classic 1968 Frank Sinatra movie, is presented one night only by Three Dollar Bill Cinema, producers of the annual Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
Frank Sinatra stars as an honest but conflicted cop, tough on crime but struggling with a law enforcement establishment where racism and homophobia are the norm. While investigating the murder of a wealthy and well-connected gay man, the mystery takes a turn with surprising results
It’s nice to think that Frank had compassion for the “gay boys” even 40 years ago.
This is part of the “I Love the Nightlife” Queer Thursdays Film Series in April. Every Thursday from April 3rd through April 24th they will present special gay interest classic at The Northwest Film Forum located at 1515 12th Ave at 7 pm: $10.
3) Drag Idol hosted by Ryan Hazy at the Neighbours Underground. This week’s theme is Celebrity Suicide & Foreign Language.
(Door @ 8:30 pm, Show @ 9 pm – $5 cover) Use the Alley Entrance.
4) Adam Creighton performs tonight in place of Karin Kajita at Martins Off Madison Piano Bistro from 8 pm – 11 pm with no cover.
