Join Father Christopher Sowers for THE Second Annual TRADITIONAL HOT DOG BLESSING on Friday, June 27th, 10 pm at The Bottleneck Lounge, 2328 E. Madison St.
Local theatre dive Sarah Rudinoff helped out last year by singing The Traditional Hot Dog Blessing for their inaugural event. This year they are going in a different direction (very very hard to top Ms. Rudinoff’s talent) so they have got this great ordained priest in the Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church – Fr. Christopher Sowers – coming up from Portland to bless their dogs.
We’re just looking at this as a great way to continue to build community – and a unique way for us all to kick off the weekend.
On Friday, June 27 at 10 pm very special guest Rev. Fr. Prof. Christopher Sowers will kick off the festivities by offering the second annual Traditional Hot Dog Blessing. Father Christopher is an ordained priest in the Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church, Father-Custodian of The Order of Ave Maria, a resident of Portland, a handsome gay man with an obvious sense of humor and a lover of hot dogs. In accordance with tradition, drinking, frivolity and general merriment will occur both before and after the blessing.
Enjoy FREE hot dogs (and veggie dogs) on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29th from 4-9 pm at The Bottleneck Lounge. The Bottleneck will be serving free dogs with all the trimmings throughout the weekend in order to sustain hungry gays and non-gays alike during this time of intense partying, trying gas conservation and rising dairy prices. No gimmicks, just good free fire-roasted weenies.
