PINKABOO! The Closeted American Songbook

June 16, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

Many of the region’s best and brightest entertainers are coming out to perform with the saucy cabaret duo “Phoenicia & Vic” (Wade Madsen and Victor Janusz) in their upcoming show at ACT, PINKABOO! The Closeted American Songbook. ACT’s Central Heating Lab presents eight performances, Friday and Saturday evenings from June 20-July 12. Special guests include: Teatro Zinzanni alumni El Vez, Manuela Horn and Kevin Kent (Teatro Zinzanni star/host), Peggy Platt (Ham for the Holidays), Sarah Rudinoff (Go There, Genius Award Winner), The Heavenly Spy (burlesque), Jicama & The Contessa (puppeteers/dancers), The Fishnettes (dancers) and Babette La Fave (the Shadow Puppet Lady). Here is the full line-up:

June 20: Heavenly Spy, Jicama & The Contessa, The Fishnettes
June 21: Peggy Platt, Jicama & The Contessa, The Fishnettes
June 27: El Vez, Manuela Horn, The Fishnettes
June 28: Manuela Horn, Heavenly Spy, The Fishnettes
July 04: Kevin Kent, Babette La Fave, The Fishnettes
July 05: Peggy Platt, Babette La Fave, The Fishnettes
July 11: Sarah Rudinoff, Babette La Fave, Heavenly Spy
July 12: Sarah Rudinoff, Babette LaFave, Heavenly Spy

Along with their pals, Phoenicia & Vic will stir up trouble and pillage dozens of great standards and early 20th century showtunes. With a consistent nod to Coward-esque sophistication, PINKABOO! is a fabulously delicious and playful companion piece to ACT’s mainstage production A Marvelous Party: The Noël Coward Celebration. PINKABOO! begins immediately after A Marvelous Party. The bar will be open, featuring PINKABOO! Martinis. Tickets are $10 (free with a same day ticket stub from A Marvelous Party) and are available at the ACT Ticket Office or online www.acttheatre.org.
