Much anticipated Spring Awakening arrives on October 14

September 22, 2008• byBill W

Broadway’s most talked about new musical and the biggest Tony Award winner in years is coming to Seattle. SPRING AWAKENING, the eight-time Tony Award winning Broadway musical including BEST MUSICAL, is coming to The Paramount Theatre from October 14 – 19, 2008.

Based on the infamous 1891 Frank Wedekind play, Spring Awakening tells the timeless story of teenage self-discovery and budding sexuality as seen through the eyes of teenagers. Haunting and provocative, the show celebrates an unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with power, poignancy and passion. The original play was banned in Germany due to its portrayal of masturbation, abortion, rape and suicide. Spring Awakening contains mature themes, sexual situations and strong language.

We will have more detailed info on this limited run in Seattle of Spring Awakening soon. But I wanted to give a heads up for people to not wait and get their tickets now if they can.

Ticket prices for Spring Awakening range from $22 to $70. Visit www.theparamount.com for more info.
