Powerful Black Nativity will touch audiences from all backgrounds and beliefs

November 24, 2008• byBill W

Black Nativity, begins Saturday, November 29, 2008. The popular gospel and dance performance has been an annual tradition for more than a decade at the Intiman Theatre.

This celebration of the holiday season offers gospel favorites performed by powerful soloists and a portion of the Total Experience Gospel Choir lead by Pastor Pat Wright. In 1998, The Total Experience Gospel Choir collaborated with Seattle Men’s Chorus with the release of the gospel CD: Soul Full.

This holiday story of song and dance retells the original Christmas story through the words of Langston Hughes, one of the greatest American poets but it’s more than just a Christmas tale. It is a dynamic and uplifting holiday performance that reaches out to audiences of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs.

Performances for Black Nativity run November 29 – December 27 at the Intiman Playhouse, Seattle Center. Tickets range in price from $15 to $45. Don’t forget that, pending availability, $20 rush tickets go on sale 15 minutes before curtain time. For more info and to purchase tickets visit www.intiman.org.
