Historic visit from Bishop Gene Robinson is tonight

January 12, 2009• byBill W

Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson visits Seattle today for his address “Civil Rights in the 21st Century: Why Religion Matters,” tonight January 12 at Town Hall at 7:30pm.

“The God that he’s praying to is not the God that I know.” That’s what Gene Robinson recently told The New York Times about Rick Warren.

Openly gay bishop Gene Robinson has been sleeted to give a prayer at Obama’s inauguration kick-off event this Sunday. That is why tonight’s visit is now so much bigger and historic. The bishop was featured in the 2007 documentary For the Bible Tells Me So. While tickets for tonight’s event are no longer available online you may be able to get tickets at the door.

The Seattle Gay News discusses the visit here.
