King County Executive Ron Sims has taken a lot of criticism lately, including urging by people in his own party not to run again, but he certainly has been a “steadfast ally to the LGBT community.” The president has tapped Sims for second in command at HUD which will could leave a huge political void for gays in the Seattle area.
