Seattle PrideFest announced that Equal Rights Washington and The GSBA Scholarship Fund will be the beneficiaries of this year’s celebration at the Seattle Center.
We are supporting two great non-profits this year – truly heroes in our community. Equal Rights Washington has been a stalwart, progressive force in Washington for pursuing equal rights – particularly marriage rights – for LGBT people. The GSBA’s scholarship program has been giving scholarships to the next generation of LGBT heroes since 1990. We are proud to feature and support these two organizations for this year’s PrideFest.
Redhook Brewery Ale is this year’s PrideFest “Platinum” beer sponsor. The beer gardens at PrideFest have been immensely fun the past couple of years. So much so that last year they were actually able to sell Beer Garden Fast Passes for $20 that allowed you to bypass the long lines and helped raise money for the event.
Seattle PrideFest at the Seattle Center takes place on Sunday June 28, 2009 starting at 11am on the DJ Stage with DJs Kyler, LA Kendall, Rob Hall and Mathematix. The Mainstage entertainment, from 1pm – 6pm, will be announced at a later time.
The Seattle Pride Parade will begin on Sunday at 11am along 4th Avenue in downtown and end at the Seattle Center. On Saturday, June 27, 2009 a couple of groups are planning a celebration/rally on Capitol Hill. The Red Party with DJ Phil B. will be Saturday night at a yet to be determined location.
