GRIMM LOVE:
The Deep Red International Festival of Fantastic Film is coming to Seattle’s Grand Illusion this weekend May 8-9. One of the films, Grimm Love, is written by gay screenwriter TS Faull and is based on Armin Miewes, the German gay cannibal killer. The film stars Keri Russell and won awards for both its stars, Thomas Huber and Thomas Kretschmann from Roman Polanski’s The Pianist and Peter Jackson’s King Kong.
TS Faull has been hired to write a horror screenplay based on social networking sites for Dimension Films. Screenwriter TS Faull will be in attendance at the 11pm showing of Grimm Love on Friday May 8, 2009.
(Also playing at the Festival is Inglorious Bastards, the basis for Quentin Tarantino’s latest film opening in August. In fact, it’s Quentin’s own print)
THE UPTOWNE SPA:
On Sunday May 10, 2009 there will be a reading of Dylan Ward’s new thriller, set in a fictional Seattle bathhouse. The JewelBox Theater will provide its space to scrappy young playwright Dylan Ward for the reading of his new thriller, The UpTowne Spa. Actors will perform a script in hand preview of the play.
Rebek is the lonely night attendant of the “UpTowne Spa,” a less than popular men’s social club. He is in love with Zoomer, a manic regular, and takes drastic, literal action to have him.
The event is 4:30-6pm ages 21+. Cost is $1-10 sliding scale donation.
