Kwanchai’s monthly Happy Hour is on Friday May 15, 2009.
For the first time they take their monthly Happy Hour on the road to the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard which will be their featured non-profit for May.
They will then extend their celebration to Sunday May 17, for “syttende gay” at BalMar in Ballard right along the parade route. Both events will benefit Nordic Heritage Museum.
Kwanchai hosts a monthly Happy Hour in support of a different local nonprofit or charitable organization within our community. Past recipients include Dearborn Elementary, Safe School Coalitions, Jubilee Woman’s Center, Verbena Health, Art with Heart, Camp Ten Trees, Rise N’Shine, Gay City Health Project, Families Like Ours, Equal Rights Washington, Susan G. Komen- 3 Day Walk, Lambert House, Provail, Q2, Youth Theatre Northwest and Viet Nam Scholarship Fund.
At the Happy Hour on Friday Kwanchai will collect items from the organization’s “Wish List” and any monetary donations.

The Nordic Heritage Museum “Wish List” includes everything from tables and chairs to even a dishwasher.
