With most of you headed off to Orlando’s One Mighty Weekend in the next couple of days, I thought I would get you thinking about Labor Day Weekend at Austin’s Splash Days. VIP ticket sales for Splash Days 2009 have begun with a 25% off early bird discount.
Austin, the greenest and bluest city in Texas, is gearing up for our annual Splash Days Weekend – Labor Day weekend, September 4th – 7th (nominated for 11 JustCircuit awards and winner of Best New Circuit Event and Best Value at a Circuit Event). Come spend the nights dancing to some of the best DJs, and the days relaxing on beautiful Lake Travis and Hippie Hollow.
Friday night – Guest DJs at many of the downtown Austin bars (both gay and straight).
Saturday day – Get Wet lake party with DJ Chad Guidry.
Saturday night – Splash Dance with DJ Joe Gauthreaux.
Saturday after-hours – Adult Swim with DJ Seth Cooper.
Sunday night – High Tide with DJ Roland Belmares.
For a limited time you can save 25% on VIP passes beginning on June 1, 2009. VIP passes include VIP entry into the Splash Dance, Adult Swim, and High Tide parties and complimentary waters. “Get Wet” tickets are sold separately and go on sale beginning August 1st. Tickets (and more information) are available online at SplashDays.com.
The Host Hotel for Splash Days is Embassy Suites Austin at Town Lake/Downtown and is already accepting reservations. The hotel is just walking distance to 2 of the 3 events and the local bars. A shuttle bus will take you to and from the main event (Splash Dance) from the host hotel and local bar area. Last year the hotel sold out. Information about the host hotel is at www.splashdays.com/hotel.html.
In case you didn’t know already, Alaska Airlines will start non-stop service between Seattle and Austin beginning August 3, 2009. And you get double miles flying to Austin until October. Looks like right now rates are $169 each way. This sure beats connecting with AA through DFW! Check out Alaska’s Gay Travel website www.alaskaair.com/gaytravel for discounts available only to the gays. 🙂
And remember that only two things come from Texas.
