Jay Brannan at The Croc on July 26

July 17, 2009• byBill W

Jay Brannan is coming to The Crocodile on Sunday, July 26th with Chris Pureka. This is an early show with doors open at 5pm, show around 6pm and tickets are $13 in advance. 21 and older only.

Shortbus

Openly gay Jay Brannan gained notoriety when he won a part in John Cameron Mitchell’s 2006 film Shortbus in which he played a character named Ceth. The film included graphic depictions of gay sex in which Brannan participates in a three-way with a gay couple.

His music is really good and he originally gained popularity by posting his work on MySpace which people have loved. With lots of things going on this summer this should be high on your list. He sold out in Chicago this last Tuesday.

In this song he does a cover of Freshman by The Verve Pipe, which is better than the original:

The Croc – Sunday July 26.
