Review: Pet Shop Boys at The Moore Theatre in Seattle
Pet Shop Boys lived up to the hype and put on an incredible show on Sunday night at The Moore Theatre. Even going in with high expectations, who could have asked for more, as Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe put on an electric and energetic show that will be remembered for a long time.
The night started as PSB fans that spanned generations filled The Moore’s underground bar with smiles and shining faces of anticipation. You could already feel the energy before it even began as long lost friends and acquaintances seem to reunite by chance for this special concert event.
Seattle’s own DJ Colby b warmed up the crowd for the first hour with her always talented mixing on stage. It seems like DJ Colby b always gets the call when the big name electronic bands come to town.
As most already know, The Moore Theatre is a great venue; surprisingly great sound and lots of seating yet it gives the audience a more intimate concert experience than other theaters. This tour seemed designed for the more intimate venues around the country.
Amazingly, the duo rarely paused between numbers and transported the enthusaiztic crowd on a roller coaster ride through 25 years of music and memories.
They played a selection of two dozen songs drawing from some favorite classics such as Go West, New York City Boy and It’s A Sin along with some new hits such as Pandemonium and All Over The World and even an incredible performance of King’s Cross. The encores starting with one of my personal favorites Being Boring and then finished with West End Girls.
Another highlight of the night was when the typically stoic keyboardist Chris Lowe got out and started dancing with the other dancers and I could have sworn he actually took off his oversized sunglasses for just a second.
Certainly, this will be a night I will remember for a long time but the sad part is that it’s unlikely any concert will be able to match this feeling of energy and emotion anytime in the near future.

By any standard – it was an amazing show. WOW – they went all the way.
Your review is on target. I went with friends at the last minute, and, are we glad we went.
It will take a lot to top this mind blowing music experience.
Good for stories for years, you know, " did you go," – well I did…
