Light the Night: A GLBTQ Hanukkah

December 7, 2009• bySeattle Gay Scene

On Wednesday Dec 16, celebrate the miracle of Hanukkah at Sole Repair and honor eight community leaders who have been influential in our local fight for equality from 7pm – 9pm.

During the Festival of Lights we remember the importance of standing up for who you are. Each candle we light of the menorah reminds us of the story of the Maccabees and the light inspires us to continue working for justice and equality in the GLBTQ community.

And they will have it all, from latkes to dreidels, and the evening will also include a beautiful candle lighting symbolizing both the miracle of Hanukkah and the idea that great leadership and community action will prevail against oppression.

Sponsored by Kolenu- The GLBTQ Initiative of Jconnect Seattle.
Sole Repair is located at 1001 E Pike 7pm – 9pm. And this is free!
