An important message about an important event on Wednesday December 9, 2009 from Don Stevens owner of Bill’s off Broadway:
As everyone is well aware in a little over 30 days 5 police officers have been brutally murdered in the Seattle area. The first was Timothy Brenton, an officer who worked out of the East Precinct on Capitol Hill. The bar and restaurant owners on Capitol Hill (of which I am one) have a very solid relationship with the police department. It was for this reason that we decided to pull together and do what we could do for the family of Officer Brenton. Next wednesday, December 9th, several area bars/restaurants are donating a portion of their sales to the “Brenton Family Assistance Fund”. Despite reports to the contrary I have confirmed that this account is very much still active and accepting deposits. We have managed to promote this event with printed material, ads, new articles and other promotional support that has been 100% donated. As a result we will be able to give all of the money we collect to the family. I am reaching out to you for help. I would appreciate you doing your best to stop by one of these establishements next wednesday and have a meal or a drink. Bring along a dozen of your closest friends. If you are unable to do that and wish to make a contribution they all have donation jars and will have them available between now and the end of next week.
The following bars/restaurants are participating:
- Barca Lounge
- Bill’s Off Broadway
- Bluebird Coffee and Tea
- Cuff Complex
- Elite
- Garage
