Do You Know What Madness Is?

January 30, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

“EDMOND”: Thursdays – Sundays through February 6, 2010.

David Mamet’s “Edmond” paints a savage and frightening picture of society, tracing the fall of a businessman who goes on a whirlwind ride of self-destruction after being shaken by an encounter with a fortune teller.

Director Paul Budraitis uses modern media to bring his vision to Mamet’s seedy underworld of man’s darkest places, following Edmond’s disintegration from husband and businessman to a horrifying and brutally violent conclusion. Social norms and sexuality are examined in this production that asks, “What you would be willing to do, if you lost everything?”

You will find a review of Edmond in the Seattle Gay News.

Balagan Theatre is located in the very heart of Capitol Hill, 1117 East Pike St. For more info, visit www.balagantheatre.org.
