Pacific Northwest Ballet is presenting a specially-created, hour-long matinee performance of Hansel & Gretel featuring 60 students of Pacific Northwest Ballet School along with a special guest, renowned dancer Ariana Lallone.
Based on the classic fairy tale, this narrated ballet tells the story of Hansel and Gretel, hungry and lost in the forest, who stumble upon a house made of delicious confections, and find themselves welcomed by a witch whose keen interest in them has a sinister motive. Perfectly timed for children and a wonderful introduction to dance and theater, creator Bruce Wells’ Hansel & Gretel will be performed three times only at Seattle Center’s McCaw Hall.
This one hour narrated performance would be a wonderful introduction to ballet for anyone not just children. Presented by the students of one of the top three ballet training institutions in the United States, Pacific Northwest Ballet School provides professional curriculum to more than 900 students.
Be sure to go early for the pre-performance festivities! Special crafts, dance classes, and surprises for the young and the young-at-heart. Performances are Sunday March 21, 2010 at 12pm and 3:30pm and on Sunday March 27 at 1pm.
Tickets start at just $25. For more info visit www.pnb.org.
