Rue McClanahan and The Golden Girls honored at Lobby Bar this Tuesday, June 8

June 6, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

To pay tribute to the magic of Rue McClanahan and her portrayal of Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls and her sad passing last week, Lobby Bar is dedicating its weekly trivia night to Ms McClanahan and the other Girls with two video rounds of Golden Girls trivia on Tuesday, June 8 at 7:30pm at the bar at 916 E Pike Street. It’s only $3 per person and you can have 6 person teams, and the team at the end of the night with the most points, wins the kitty…I can’t make it that night, but if I WAS able to go, I would TOTALLY win that cat; I can quote lines from that show faster than Sophia Petrillo can organize an escape attempt from Shady Pines…oh, and there are food and drink specials available as well. Check it out and thank YOU for being my friend.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
