With just one week to go most people probably have Vancouver Canada Pride on their mind. (Anything to get my mind off this whole Capitol Hill Block Party mess invading our neighborhood) Advance tickets for UNITED with DJ Abel are just about sold out (about 30 at last count) and they even added more advance tickets. Remember last year, people waited in long lines all the way up until 6am to get inside the event. And tickets at the door are $75 each. The Monday morning party goes all the way until 10am.
On Friday July 30 it’s PRIDE BALL at Celebrities Nightclub in Vancouver with DJ Manny Lehman going until 4am. There will be a sexy underwear fashion show at 10:30pm.
On Saturday, July 31st from 2pm – 8pm it’s FRISKY with DJ ALYSON CALAGNA (Miami) for a T-Dance, featuring adult super-star, Reese Rideout at the amazing J Lounge (1216 Bute @ Davie), Vancouver Westend’s hidden treasure and best patio.
Of course the climax of Vancouver Pride is always “Rapture” with a big lineup of events:
IGNITION – DJ Ana Paula at Commodore Ballroom, Sat. 9pm-5am.
HEATWAVE – DJ Nick Bertossi at Westin Grand, Sat. 3pm-8pm.
VICTORY – DJ Paulo at Commodore Ballroom, Sun. 9pm-5am.
On top of all this don’t miss the Davie Street Party on Friday July 30th from 7pm-12am.
Vancouver’s circuit parties are on a MUCH higher level than anything we see in Seattle. Though we try here in Seattle, sadly we just can’t pull of the massive and magical high energy dance parties like our sisters to the north. Everything about Vancouver is so much more metropolitan and the events almost feel East Coast big scale but with the West Coast friendliness.
Don’t have a hotel already? Good luck with that since Vancouver attracts over 500,000 gays and friends each year.
