Steven Wright is coming to Seattle in October

August 28, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

Well my favorite comedian of all time, Steven Wright, is performing at The Moore Theatre on October 20, 2010. Tickets just went on sale today!

Steven has enjoyed iconic success since is first appearance on the “Tonight Show” back in 1982. The comic soon found himself performing his off-beat routines on “Saturday Night Live,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” and numerous trips back to “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.” He has earned a spot on Comedy Central’s list of the greatest stand-up comics.

There are some who do not appreciate his dry and sometimes dark humor and absurdly funny one liners. But for most of us, every sentence that comes out from his seemingly disturbed and stoic demeanor is hilarious.

Academy Award Winner Steven Wright is a prototype comedian that many others continually try to follow.

If you do a search, there are literally hundreds of Steven Wright one-liners and every one of them is funny. With so many it is impossible to select my favorites so here are just a few of his classics but his newer stuff is even better:

I had some eyeglasses. I was walking down the street when suddenly the prescription ran out.

When everything is coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

A fool and his money are soon partying.

I feel like I’m diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

Someone sent me a postcard picture of the earth.
On the back it said, “Wish you were here.”

Here is classic Steven Wright from 20 years ago:

I will be posting more one-liners later but don’t miss out on purchasing the best tickets today.
