Yessum…tickets are still available for tonight’s sure to be fabulous show at The Paramount for the hardest working woman in Rock and Roll, Melissa Etheridge. The Grammy/Oscar winning singer/songwriter has a lot of devoted fans in Seattle and here’s some of the reasons why:
From our introduction to her in 1988, and throughout her illustrious career, Melissa Etheridge has never forgotten that it all begins with the songs. She has poured everything into those songs and they have served her well.
Those songs—“Bring Me Some Water,” “Ain’t it Heavy,” “I’m the Only One,” “Come to My Window,” “I Want to Come Over,” “Angels Would Fall,” “I Run for Life” and “I Need to Wake Up” among them—have rewarded her with five Platinum albums (including the multi-Platinum sets Melissa Etheridge, Your Little Secret and the six-million-selling Yes I Am), a pair of Grammys®, an Oscar®, an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year honor and the ASCAP Founders Award.
Easily one of the greatest all-time female rock icons, Melissa Etheridge is also a mother and a cancer survivor. She is an outspoken cultural, political and human rights activist, a thought-provoker and a longtime truth-seeker.
With her latest album, Fearless Love, out now on Island Records, she is at the top of her game.
Nothing like a PR blurb to clear your mind!
And, Ms Etheridge’s Sunday show is just the START of a week of amazing shows at The Paramount, ALL of them with HUGE interest for LGBT music/entertainment fans. The amazing Rufus Wainwright takes the stage on Wednesday, the 25th and everyone’s favorite loudmouth and BFF to the gays, Margaret Cho is back next Friday, the 27th for one of her yearly visits to Seattle…in fact, both Rufus and Margaret should be made honorary Seattlites because they obviously adore us since they both visit us at least once a year. It’s because we have such GOOD taste in performers…that, and the fresh seafood.
Check ALL of them out, if you can afford it, and let us know how divine they were…(Paramount marquee photo by ME)
