Stuff to Do Tonight, Thursday, August 19, 2010: Cabaret with Sylvia & Tor; Saturday Night Fever opens at Re-bar; The Council at Bus Stop!

August 19, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

You have a lot of options this greyish Summer evening…

Everyone loves Sylvia O’Stayformore and her delicious lounge act with Tor Middlewood…They’ll be at the Orient Express (2963 4th Avenue South, in SoDo)tonight as:

they explore favorite Bacharach, bawdy vaudeville, soulful jazz standards, rare girl group songs and original compositions. It’s true intimate cabaret at it’s finest.

Also: Chinese Food and kitschy drinks. Fun.

I plug them constantly, but, it’s because I love them. Brown Derby’s latest production, Saturday Night Fever opens tonight at Re-bar; doors open at 7pm, show at 8pm, cash only. With the comedy talents of Dusty Warren as John Travolta as Tony Manero and the musical talents of Scott Shoemaker as the BeeGees as the Soundtrack. Hilarity ensues.

Do you like BritPop? Sure you do, so you already know you should head to Bus Stop tonight for their monthly night of the best of British Pop known as “The Council”. They promise that DJ’s:

Erik Blood, Coulter, Buttontop and Xin will give you tinnitus…. Rodney will give you peritonitis. 9-2.

Oh, and it’s FREE! Well, free in the sense of no cover…I’m guessing the drinks must cost SOMETHING!
