You got some learnin’ to do…yep, it’s that time of the year, time to head back to school and that means it’s also time for Gay City’s Gay City University, the annual event where you can get schooled in subjects of interest to the Queer community. Need help to quit smoking? Dealing with addiction issues? Wanna get in shape and strengthen your body? Maybe you want to find out about Gay Seattle History, (yeah, youngun’s there were gay bars before 1982…) Or, is are you interested in building a family? Learn how to adopt from the foster care system, (yep, unlike many states it’s possible for LGBTQ people to do that in Washington State). You can learn about ALL these topics and so much more at Gay University.
It all goes down this Saturday, September 11 from 9am to 4pm at the Northwest School, 1415 Summit Ave on Capitol Hill. But, you need to pre-register for your classes…head to the Gay City website, (also, check out their other programms they offer) or stop by the Gay City office at 511 East Pike Street. Gay City University is only $20 for the entire day (up to four classes but you can do as few as you like). I’ve done Gay U. in the past and it’s fun and a great way to meet new people…check it out!
