That’s right. A Vogue Ball in Seattle.
Whoa.
If you’re new to Voguing, I highly suggest you do one (or all) of the following:
- Check out the Wikipedia entry for “Vogue (Dance)”
- Get your mitts on a copy of the film “Paris is Burning” and prime your thumb to press the rewind button multiple times.
- Watch Season 4 of America’s Best Dance Crew, and look for Vogue Evolution
The awesome Willi Ninja in “Paris is Burning”
Why?
Because you need to be ready. Ready to express yourself in the truest sense of the phrase. SHADE! asks you to take your personality and dial it up ’til the knob breaks. I don’t know what that means, but this is THE event to bring all of your celebricentric dreams to life. SHADE! does not care if you always wanted to be a circus clown, Diana Ross, or a street lamp. SHADE! only cares that you do it proper. So if you want to be a street lamp, you had better get a kickin’ papier-mâché recipe and twelve of your best friends to help you walk down the runway.
Oh, did I mention? SHADE! is building a custom runway for this event. Re-bar with a runway… swoon!
Let’s all take a moment to breathe together and calm down, because I’ve got more news. There’s also an ArtStar Fashion show. If you got turned down at the door for the Sole Repair show, you will know why buying a ticket in advance is important.
Ok, one more… Drink Specials = Champagne.
Who?!
Who the hell is throwing this party anyway? None other than some of Seattle’s finest: The Pacific Northwest’s first Vogue House: The House of Charlatan; the hottest tranny fashion aficionado: ArtStar (pictured below); and your favorite party-pumper extraordinaire: Still-Drunk-Paul.

What’s the big deal?
So glad you asked. Not only will this be a rare treat in Seattle’s party history, it’s also a benefit for Lifelong AIDS Alliance. All proceeds will go to further the cause of this fantastic service organization.
Just to recap, that’s an evening of fashion, unparalleled self-expression, dancing and general revelry all in the name of good cause.
What are you waiting for?
