I’m a sucker for British comedy – since AbFab first lept into my cerebral cortex in 1994 with its rapid fire dialogue and witty, Britty characters, I’ve been a willing watcher of pretty much anything BBC slings across the Atlantic.
I came late to the Catherine Tate bandwagon, but if you haven’t discovered her yet, check out this clip where she’s playing Derek Faye, an impossibly closeted middle-aged man who is deeply offended at anyone who dares suggest he is anything but supremely heterosexual. Two seasons of her show are available now on Netflix Instant View.
And, if Derek isn’t your cup of tea, I’ll offer the extraordinarily Welsh Daffyd Thomas, the only gay in the village, from Little Britain, also available on Netflix Instant View.
Enjoy!
