The Bears and Cubs of the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival’s opening film “Bear City” will be hitting the red carpet tonight, Friday, October 15. Film starts at 7:30pm and director Doug Langway and star Stephen Guarino will be in attendance. What’s the film all about?
It’s a big party weekend in new york’s bear scene, and a tight-knit group of friends is gearing up. Sneaking away from his compulsively thin clique, svelte bear-chaser (and wannabe cub) Tyler struggles to get the romantic attentions of a sexy older musclebear, Roger, who’s not about to let his buddies see him go for a twink. Fortunately, Tyler’s fashionista roommate Simon is there to help. Lusty Fred and his homebody partner Brent explore the awkward territory of an open relationship, with hilarious results. Meanwhile, Michael considers weight loss surgery to improve his jobhunting prospects, but this alienates his boyfriend Carlos. Winner of Los Angeles Outfest jury awards for Best Screenplay and Best Actor (Stephen Guarino, The Big Gay Sketch Show), this sweet and sexy film has it all: colorful characters, droll humor, romantic drama, and plenty of fur.
And, you’ll want to stick around after the film for the Quincean-bear-a Opening Night Gala at Neumos with DJ Skiddle and a Mexican feast provided by Qdoba. A ticket or pass is required for admittance to the party and it’s obviously 21+.
Seattle Gay Scene is gonna be there…buy us a drink, Mr Hot Bear Man!
