Lock up the booze and our chastest lads/ladettes: the crazy ass trannie bitchez from San Francisco are coming back to Seattle to wreck havoc on our fair city…Trannyshack, the brilliant punk/drag/performance art showcase created and headlined by everyone’s favorite Icelandic princess, the one and only Heklina is returning to Seattle for their fall engagement at Chop Suey on Saturday, October 23. And, since it’s so close to Halloween, expect lots of chills, thrills, spills and general decadence. Trannyshack shows are out of control, so if you stand close to the stage, expect to get splattered with….SOMETHING nasty. Some of the ladiez like to use props in their numbers and I’ve seen the stage at Chop Suey covered with all sorts of crazy crap after one of their shows.
I am especially excited about this season’s lineup; the fabulous “Ethel Merman” is coming up for the show! If you haven’t seen Ms Merman in action, you’ve been missing something. She’s a little fireplug of a performer who belts out rock standards like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” but in an Ethel Merman voice…it’s AWESOME! (For our younger readers, Ethel Merman was a Broadway diva famous for her big belting voice…she has a cameo in the first “Airplane” film.) Heklina has announced the full line up; more could be added:
Heklina
Ursula Android
Jackie Hell
Fade-Dra
Sylvia O’Stayformore
Ben De LaCreme
Ethel Merman
Ade
Terra Hymen
Mercy Fuque
Jinx Monsoon
Maxine DeLaCunt
and more!
The doors open at 9:30pm and show starts at 11pm. Tickets are $10 but if you have a ticket stub from attending one of this year’s films at the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival you get $2 off the admission price and can see the show for $8. That’s a damn fine bargain!
Definitely worth a check out.
